Daphine Terra 50th Anniversary

Lumina celebrates the 50th anniversary of Daphine. Created in 1976 as a design by Tommaso Cimini,founder of Lumina, Daphine perfectly embodies his guiding principle: ‘Lots of light, not much lamp’.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Lumina is launching new versions featuring colourful
details and a commemorative logo, giving the collection a fresh new colour style.

The colour choice draws inspiration from the decade in which the product was created: the 1970s. An era defined by a strong visual identity, in which natural, organic forms and warm tones shaped a new way of understanding the products of that time. Evoking that aesthetic
means celebrating the product’s history and reinterpreting it with a contemporary sensibility.

Thanks to its aesthetic and functional appeal that transcends the ages, Daphine is considered an iconof design. Its success lies in its simplicity, a direct reflection of the rigour and elegance characteristic of Lumina’s approach to design. A philosophy that prioritises lasting quality and practicality over fleeting trends, and which has enabled Daphine to remain a benchmark lamp even five decades later. Featured in many international museums and projects around the world, Daphine is appreciated by thousands of people who have used and loved it for its discreet and reliable presence. The lamp is still manufactured today at the Lumina factories in Arluno, where the entire production cycle takes place.
