Is this track system right for you?

Astro's 48 V track is a slim, low-voltage system with individually dimmable fittings. Here is how to tell if it suits your project.

It's a great fit if you want to:

• Keep the ceiling quiet. The track is only 26 mm wide, so it almost disappears into modern ceilings. It comes in matt black or matt white.
• Dim each light on its own. Every fitting has DALI dimming built in, so with a DALI control system each light can be set and dimmed separately.
• Light up and down. Suspended double sided track takes fittings above and below, for up-lighting and down-lighting from one track.
• Soften the corners. Surface mounted track can have square or curved corners. Suspended single sided track always has curved corners.
• Mix spots and linear lights. Clip on Can spots, a slim pendant, or linear lights, and move them along the track later.

Think twice if you need:

• No driver to hide. The track runs on 48 V, so it needs a separate driver installed nearby, usually in the ceiling space above the power feed, plus a licensed electrician for the mains wiring.
• A complex layout. The track comes in five shapes: linear, L, U, S and rectangle. T and X junctions are not available.
• A lot of power on one track. Each power feed can carry up to 480 W, and a design can have up to 50 m of track in total.
• Dimming without DALI. Dimming needs a DALI control system. Without one, the lights simply switch on and off at full brightness.
• A choice of colour temperature or beam angle. The fittings are currently available in 2700 K (warm white) only, and each fitting comes in a single beam angle, so you can't choose a cooler white or a narrower or wider beam.
