DOT SLIM by Georg Bechter Licht is an ultra-shallow recessed LED module from the Austrian System DOT 28 family. It is made for ceilings with almost no void: concrete, plasterboard, thick plaster, timber and other panel materials.
It is one of the thinnest high-output architectural spots available: from 25 mm installation depth in solid construction and about 40 mm in suspended plasterboard. A single point delivers up to 825 lm; the DUO version reaches up to 1220 lm.
DOT SLIM is designed around the ceiling material so the finished surface stays seamless.
Plasterboard. Cut a rectangle, insert the module into the ceiling and finish with a skim coat. The adjustable plaster edge (0–6 mm) makes a flush finish straightforward.
Concrete. A 25 mm formwork board is used when the slab is poured. Once the module is set, a skim coat completes the surface. The same 0–6 mm adjustable plaster edge helps the fixture sit flush with the ceiling.
Thick plaster. The module is suited to thick, sprayed or acoustic plaster ceilings. It can sit against solid surfaces and accommodate plaster thicknesses of about 25–30 mm.
Timber / Independent module. This version is designed for panelling of all types, especially timber. It finishes flush with a recessed shadow gap and strong glare control, which makes downlighting in this difficult material far simpler.
After installation, only a 28 mm flush opening remains. The LED is fitted and removed from the front, so DOT SLIM stays serviceable after the ceiling is finished.
Two ring options are available: the glare-suppression ring for maximum glare control, or the fade ring for a balance of glare reduction and a visible light point.
Once installed, the aperture is barely larger than a coin. That is the idea: almost invisible hardware, generous light.
DOT SLIM is an expansive system available with multiple mounting options, beam angles, colour temperatures and dimming control. To finalize you configuration or explore options please request a quote below or contact our sales team.
