Dot 28 Plasterboard Modules

The plasterboard modules for SYSTEM DOT 28 by Georg Bechter Licht bring the 28 mm light point into a plasterboard ceiling, either flush with the surface or as a modelled recess or projection. Each module uses the DOT 28 bayonet, so the luminaire locks in from the front and can be removed just as easily for installation and maintenance.

Eight modules cover different looks and installation types.

Flush-mounted

• FLUSH 28. A flush gypsum-fibre module for jointing into the ceiling. The square face is taped and filled at the joints only, then primed and painted with the ceiling.
• Spackling Insert 68–28. A flush option for new work or retrofits. It fits a standard 68 mm cut-out in a finished ceiling and is skimmed over the face. An adjustable filler ring sets the plaster thickness.
• Plasterboard Mounting Ring 28. The simplest flush option: a 32 mm cut-out with minimal finishing. The ceiling must be accessible from behind, and the ring cannot be used with DOT 28 pendants over 1kg
• Drywall Capsule 28. A flush module with an enclosed housing behind the ceiling. Wiring stays tidy and accessible, and loose material in the ceiling void is kept off the cooling baffles.

Sculptural

• INTRO 28. A recessed module with a curved plaster form that draws the light point back into the ceiling.
• EXTRO 28. A projecting module with a curved plaster form, so the light source appears to fall into the room.
• DROP 28. A module with a soft, wave-like plaster ridge around the light point.
• SINUS 28. A wider twin plaster module with organic curved detail.

All SYSTEM DOT 28 luminaires can be used in the flush-mounted modules. Only selected luminaires are compatible with the Mounting Ring, INTRO 28, EXTRO 28, DROP 28 and SINUS 28.
